CLUTCH ( Before R 3061 ) — TO REMOVE

SECTION – Remove hand brake cross shaft, ( Section 206 ) .
303 – Disconnect and remove battery.

– Jack up rear of car and move the rear axle back along the springs
sufficiently to bring the front end of the propeller shaft clear of
the splined spider ( Section 204 ). Remove the top of the gear box
complete with change speed lever.

– Disconnect speedometer drive.

– Remove the nuts from the studs and the five bolts holding the gearbox
to the rear of the engine. The gearbox can then be lifted back until the
clutch shaft is clear of the clutch cover and the gearbox complete with
transmission brake can then be removed.

– Lower rear end of engine undershield and remove bottom half of
flywheel housing. Remove the six bolts and clamping plates holding the
clutch cover in the flywheel. The clutch cover can then be removed. Lift
out the clutch pressure plate and drive out the three dowel pins from the
inside of the flywheel. The clutch driven plate can then be removed.
