VAUXHALL 20-60 SHOP MANUAL
If this distance is more than 2 / 32 ”, loosen the six bolts ‘M’ and turn the clutch
13
cover a little to the right. If less than 2 / 32 ”, turn cover a little to the left,
13
tighten the bolts and measure the distance ‘N’ again. If it is more or less than
2the above operation must be repeated. After the correct setting has been
obtained, thoroughly tighten the bolts ‘M’. This completes clutch adjustment.
CLUTCH PEDAL — TO ADJUST
SECTION Press pedal down and note distance the release sleeve travels. It should
302 be pushed towards the flywheel about ^F’, which is necessary for a clean
release. If it does not travel that distance, shift the pedal up a little by means
of the slotted adjustment provided at the bottom of the clutch pedal.
There should be approximately an inch of pedal movement before release
commences.
The clutch pedal adjustment, when set correctly, should not be touched
again, because adjusting the clutch automatically brings the pedal back to
its correct position.
Do not drive with the foot on the clutch pedal. Do not slip the clutch in an
endeavour to avoid gear changing.
This dimension gives proper location of throwout in engaged
position and Clutch should be adjusted to give this position.
