IGNITION Delco-Remy coil and battery, semi-automatic advance. Supplemented by
manual control on steering wheel.
INDUCTION SYSTEM To ensure complete vaporization of petrol the vertical pipe of
the induction manifold is heated by means of exhaust gases.

LUBRICATION, CHASSIS High pressure grease gun.
PETROL FEED SYSTEM Autovac fitted on the offside of the dashboard under the
bonnet. Three filters in system.

A petrol pump supersedes the Autovac on and after chassis number R 4237.

PROPELLER SHAFT Open tubular with flexible fabric universal joint at either end. The
propeller shaft end couplings are pressed into position during the course of manufacture

and cannot subsequently be dismantled. The diameter of the propeller shaft is 2 25”.

SPEEDOMETER Positive drive from gearbox.

SPRINGS Semi-Elliptic of silico manganese underslung at rear. Rear springs take torque.

STEERING Maries patent cam and roller. Steering box is a malleable iron casting.

Steering ratio 18 to 1. Steering wheel diameter 17”. Finished in black vulcanite with aluminium
centre.
Turning circle: Right lock, 44 ft. 6 ins.; Left lock, 44 ft.
TIMING GEARS ( Engine ) Distribution by endless chain running on crankshaft,
camshaft, and dynamo sprockets. Chain tension is adjustable externally by movement of
the dynamo drive housing.
