20 Moreton Village Only
Towards the end of the Great War and immediately following it, two events took place
of considerable significance. First, in 1917, the Thame Park Estate sold off by auction a
considerable acreage of land and properties, including Moreton Field Farm, Moreton
Farm, Brook Cottage, and Meadowbrook Farm. Also falling under the hammer was a
paddock alongside the Old Bell and the Allotments which subsequently became The
Furlongs.
