TIMING CHAIN SPROCKETS — TO REMOVE
SECTION – Remove dynamo ( Section 364 ).
424 – Remove timing chain ( Section 421 ).
– The dynamo driving sprocket and bearing housing can then be withdrawn
from the rear of the timing gear case.
– Remove bolt from end of crankshaft and drag off sprocket and starting-
dog together.
– Remove nut from end of camshaft and drag off sprocket.
– Remove castellated nut from dynamo driving spindle.
– Remove dynamo driving sprocket retaining nut and lock nut, and drag
off sprocket.
The roller bearing can be removed from the sprocket after removing the
spring retaining ring.
To further dismantle the dynamo drive, remove the sprocket key in spindle
and this can then be driven through the bearing housing. Remove inner
bearing retaining nut and the bearing can be removed.
