– Remove the swivel axle cap on the nearside ( and the steering arm
( ‘R’, Fig. 3 ) on the offside ) by taking out the two bolts which hold
each to the respective . swivel axle. The brake shoe fulcrum bracket
( ‘L’, Fig. 3 ) can now be removed. Take away dust shield and remove
the pivot pin nut ( ‘N’, Fig. 3 ). The pivot pin can then be pressed out
and the swivel axle removed. Should the pivot pin give any resistance,
a few sharp taps with a hammer round the axle boss will give it a start
out of the taper hole.
