An economical engine
In its latest Euro 4 diesel version, the Cursor 8 engine develops more
torque and power (up to 380 hp) from lower fuel consumption.
For environmentally-conscious operators, this fuel advantage is
made all the sweeter by complying with Euro 5 standards and even
EEV levels (available as options). On a technical note, the diesel tank
and AdBlue reservoir are filled through the same filling point on
Citelis. In the CNG version, Citelis is fitted with a Cursor 8 CNG
engine, which already produces lower emission levels than those
required for the EEV standard. A final point is that Irisbus Iveco also
supplies the necessary supports for fitting natural gas tanks.
The choice of configurations
In terms of operating configurations, Citelis offers a wide range of
rear axle ratios and gearboxes with integral speed retarder, as well
as exhaust outlets at ground or roof level (for transverse engines).
Citelis can be configured as a standard or articulated trolleybus with
an electric engine fitted near to the drive axle. An auxiliary power
unit is placed to the rear, replacing the Cursor engine. The traction
and ancillary equipment is generally fitted on the roof structure.
Safety and comfort
With ABS and ASR as standard, Citelis has a new front axle with
independent wheels, which greatly improves stability while reducing
noise levels and vibrations. The air suspension with automatic
levelling can be fitted with an optional vehicle raise/lower device.
In terms of the electronic equipment on board Citelis, multiplexing
assists the reading of data on the instrument panel (two models
available), and simplifies problem diagnostics during maintenance
operations.
