The PM3300 can be configured to analyze almost any electrical system. Its versatility
is achieved because all the power inputs are ac + dc coupled and isolated from each
other and from ground.
The inputs can therefore be connected as required by the user via the main menu.
Frequency and auto ranging are normally set for all channels based on the inputs to
channel 1.
The independent wiring modes allow inputs of differing magnitude or frequency to be
monitored simultaneously. This is very useful for frequency converters and DC bus
measurements. These modes are used for load efficiency measurements (see
page 15).
shunt This selects internal or external shunt mode:
Internal is selected for direct measurements of ac and dc
currents up to 30Arms, and uses signals from precision internal
shunts. This mode can also be used with AC current
transformers.
External is selected when taking current measurements using
external high current shunts, or other devices providing a
voltage signal proportional to current.
1 phase 2 wire Select for single phase loads, 2 wire distribution systems and
rectifier outputs.
1 phase 3 wire Select for three wire single phase distribution systems.
3 phase 3 wire Select for three phase loads without neutral connection (2
wattmeter method).
3 phase 4 wire Select for three phase loads with or without neutral connection
(3 wattmeter method).
independent ch3 Select, for example, for 3 phase input on channels 1 and 2 (Two
wattmeter) and DC bus on Channel 3.
independent channels Select for completely independent channel operation, such as
for input, DC bus and output of a frequency converter.
CHANNEL SELECT
These keys select the channel measurements to
be displayed.
Σ SUMMATION
Displays the total (summation value for the multiphase system).
NEUTRAL
N Provides, analysis of the neutral currents by computation from
the individual phase currents.
Arms, Apeak and Acf can be displayed. The THD and harmonic
analysis can be performed.
