Proprietary application-specific modes are available via the main menu of the PM3300,
providing powerful measurement capabilities for complex waveforms and meeting the
full testing requirement of the IEC555 standards. These are outlined on page 3 and
described in full detail in our free Application Handbooks.
PWM drives Pulse-width modulated (PWM) inverter motor drives present
IEC555 testing complex waveforms at both input and output. The windowing
and digital filtering techniques of this mode simplify accurate
measurement. Used with independent channel 3 wiring, input
and output efficiencies can be measured.
Supported by its motor measurement capability (see auxiliary
inputs on page 14), the PM3300 provides a complete measure-
ment solution for Inverter /Motor systems.

The IEC555 Standard regulates harmonic emissions (Part 2)
and flicker severity (Part 3) generated by equipment.
The PM3300 has full mesurement capability for compliance
testing to both Parts of the Standard, measuring steady state
and fluctuating harmonics, changing voltage, flicker and voltage
deviations.
A proprietary current method for flicker measurement provides
a pre-compliance check without the need for expensive sources
or source impedance.

lighting ballasts The line-modulated high frequency waveforms presented at
ultrasonics the output of modern ballasts and ultrasonic equipment are
accurately measured by synchronising the sampling period to
the line modulations. The independent wiring modes fo the
PM3300 simplify efficiency measurements of ballasts.

efficiency The independent wiring modes of the PM3300 provide the
capability to display efficiency readings based on simultaneous
power measurements of the independent channels.
A user-definable efficiency formula allows Watts and VA to be
configured for all combinations of channels.
For example CH1/CH2 or (CH1+CH2)/CH3.
