            allegiance to the Grand Master of the order on this gratifying occasion most
            sincerely unite with the great body of the Brethren with one heart and one
            voice in exprefsing their heartfelt joy at this truly providential circumstance.
               We have now only to emplore the Great Architect of the Universe whose
            Almighty goodnefs has been so recently exemplified in your Royal Person, that
            Your Royal Highnefs and your illustrious House may for many Years continue
            to enjoy the favor of His divine care and protection and that He may shower
            upon your Royal Highnefs and your illustrious Line the choicest blefsings and
            that Your Royal Highnefs may be long spared to rule over us./Signed on behalf

               [8 November 1836] A Letter of thanks from His Royal Highnefs The Duke
            of Sufsex, MWGM &c&c&c was read by the W.M. Pro tem in reply to the
            congratulatory addrefs of the Lodge.
               A copy of a letter from His Royal Highness follows “as ordered to be
            entered.” This is headed  “Augustus Frk (Signed)” and reads:

               I thank you for your Brotherly and affectionate addrefs
               In the midst of my affliction and temporary privation of the inestimable
            blefsing of sight, the sympathy and interest in my behalf exprefsed by the
            Fraternity at large has been to me a source of great consolation.
               The confirmation of these sentiments while it calls from me a renewed
            tribute of Gratitude will serve as an additional  stimulus to exert  my  best
            endeavors for the integrity and advantage of the Craft in general as well as for
            the benefit of each particular Brother.
               Kensington Palace the 9th of
               September AD. 1836 AL 5836.
               A letter to the W.M. from a “Committee acting for the purpose of preparing
            & presenting to the M.W.G.M. a testimonial of regard & esteem on the
            occasion of his restoration to sight” was read, considered, and deferred to a
            future meeting.
