be followed:—

– Remove head lamps complete with front wing tie bar.

– Disconnect carburettor choke shutter control, all pipes which connect
engine to dashboard fittings and all controls attached to the bottom of
the steering box.
– Remove the countersunk headed bolt attaching the front end of each
bonnet deck to the radiator. ( Prior to chassis No. R 3061 ).

radiator water drain tap to prevent any possibility of damaging it.
– Remove starting handle shaft bracket.
– Remove undershield and bonnet decks.

– Uncouple exhaust pipe from silencer front end and from exhaust elbow
on engine. On cars bearing chassis number prior to R 3061 the exhaust
pipe is coupled to the silencer by means of a flange and four studs, and the
front end of the pipe is located in the exhaust elbow on the engine by a set
screw. On cars bearing chassis number R 3061 and onwards, the exhaust
pipe is coupled to the silencer by a clip and clamping bolt, and the front
end is bolted to the flanged end of the exhaust elbow. It will facilitate
dismantling if the exhaust pipe is not removed from the manifold elbow
