The Irisbus MidiRider SLF
Pic of interior
Every care has been taken to ensure that the driver can carry out
his duties with the maximum of efficiency and the minimum of
fuss. All instruments are directly in the line of vision whilst all
controls have been ergonomically arranged. The driver's seat is a
ZF xxxx and features air suspension, head and arm rests. With a
kerb to kerb turning circle of only
15 metres, urban routes can be negotiated with ease with the ZF
power assisted steering.
Keeping a close watch on everything going around the bus is a constant task, particularly in busy
city centres. This is made easier and safer by the deep wrap round windscreen and large rear view
mirrors.
The 270 horsepower from the 6 litre tector engine is transmitted to the rear axle through a choice of
6 speed synchromesh or 4 speed automatic gearbox to ensure that schedules can be maintained
whilst maintaining stress free driving.

Operationally, close attention has been paid to the needs
of the fleet manager to reduce running costs to a
minimum. The latest technology employed in the Iveco
tector engine, the use of major units from trusted world
class, quality suppliers and even from the fundamental
design of the body structure.
Seating layouts
Despite everyone's best endeavours, body
damage is a regular occurrence but the steel
panelling of the MidiRider ensures that minor
damage can be readily beaten out. For
example, an impact on the front corner will
not ripple down the side walls with the
consequent increase in repair costs.
