The Irisbus MidiRider SLF
The MidiRider SLF is a vehicle designed to meet the
precise needs of urban passenger transport. The key to
its success lies with two of its major design concepts.
Firstly, the design is purposely aimed at the particular
problems associated with urban and city centre operations.
These are the accessibility concerns brought about by narrow
streets, tight corners and on-street parking. These militate
against full width buses and to ensure maximum route
diagram availability the MidiRider has been built to an overall
length of 10.9 metres and a maximum width of 2.4 metres.

Secondly, the low floor design. This permits a travelling ride height of 320 mm and thus provides
adequate suspension travel to give first class ride comfort from the all round air suspension.
However, to ensure ease of passenger access and speed of throughput, a frame raise and lower
device gives a one step entry height of only 250 mm.

Depending on layout, up to 36 passengers can be seated with an additional 33
standees and 1 wheelchair carried. Once on board, passengers will welcome
the gently sloping floor and an aisle width of xx mm allowing them to reach
their seats in ease. Once seated in the comfort and luxury of MTB xxxxxx seats,
the journey time, however long, will be enhanced by the visibility provided by
the deep, double glazed windows. All climate conditions can be catered for by
the powerful saloon heater and the ventilation provided by six xxxxxxx windows
along the length of the saloon.
