The Benefits of Irisbus Technology

The benefits of operating an Irisbus passenger vehicle or travelling in one start at the
moment the concept is developed.

The latest computer technology is used to create the safest, strongest possible
structure without penalising passenger capacities. Even that is not enough for the
engineers who go to great lengths to prove the calculations by severe test
programmes.

Engines are considered by Iveco to be the heart of every vehicle and are therefore
one of their core activities. Whether it be the Sofim engine powering the LoGo, the
tector engine in the MidiRider or the Cursor engine of the Agora Line, the latest but
most appropriate technology has been incorporated. The Cursor, for example, is a
totally electronic engine featuring unit pump fuel injection and variable geometry
turbocharging. These are all controlled by a Bosch electronic control unit and
contribute to excellent fuel economy and low emission levels.

Driveline and braking system components have been developed in conjunction with
world- class suppliers. This ensures maximum performance coupled with maximum
durability and reliability key aspects of profitable bus operation.

Having created the optimum chassis, the same level of attention is paid to the
bodywork, both inside and out. Some aspects, such as the anti corrosion treatment
cannot be seen at first sight but the benefits manifest themselves in a longer body
life with lower maintenance costs and higher residual values. Inside the saloon, trim,
glazing, seat selection and upholstery are all selected for their total quality and their
ability to make the travelling public want to ride in an Irisbus product
