68 Amo Amass A-Muse - Lodge of the Nine Muses

It is the smallness of our Lodge that has given to us our strength. I have recently read
an article by a famous American Freemason who deplores their way to greatness by
increasing the size of Lodges and thereby making them impersonal without feeling
             or spirit.
Masonry is not for everyone. It is selective and we should be for ever on our guard
as to whom we select to join us. One unsuitable member can do a great deal of harm
to a Lodge. Not only as a Lodge are we proud of our hospitality and our Work but we
speak about the ‘spirit of the Muses’ which many visitors have remarked upon. Every
time we hear our ritual we learn something new because it is not only the words that
matter but the genuine feeling of the speaker behind those words and so we receive
more light and appreciate the truth that Masonry is within us.
Brethren, I thank you most sincerely for drinking my health.
