HIS ISSUE SHOWS A WONDERFUL SELECTION OF SOME IMAGES
CAPTURED ON THE DESIGNATED LOCAL WILDLIFE CAMERAS,
Tsent to us by Henry Manisty.

The most exciting wildlife news relates to Goosanders, which are as rare as
Curlews around here. There were records in 2019 of a family of goosanders
breeding somewhere around Ickford and Shabbington which were recorded
as chicks with their mum in the summer. This year Waterstock has had the
first recorded breeding in Oxfordshire with five chicks plus mum recorded
in May on camera. Four of the chicks have survived and are now regularly
recorded on the Waterstock’s designated local wildlife site, otherwise,
Kingfishers, Little Egrets and Herons are regularly seen.

Could Ickfordians look out for Dormice which are now exceptionally rare,
although there have been some welcome sightings in Waterstock. v Jackdaw - 19 June 2021
