Integrator Measurements
The PM3000A provides comprehensive integration capability for determining energy
consumption maximum demand, or average values over a period of time. The
integrator allows total flexiblity and is controlled in response to:-
i). Manual control.
or ii). External/Remote control.
or iii). The internal real-time clock.
The integrator can therefore be used in a variety of applications, from energy
consumption of an electrical appliance, to measuring the real and reactive energy
consumed by a plant in a number of different tariff bands.
The integrator on the PM3000A operates independently of other measurement
functions allowing the operator to make normal measurements whilst integration is
in progress.
W- WATT HOURS.
hr
This records total energy consumption.
VA -
hr VA-HOURS.
VAr - This records the apparent energy consumption or maximum demand.
hr
VAr-HOURS.
A-
hr This records the reactive energy consumption.
AMPERE-HOURS.
This measures the ampere-hours consumed. Can be programmed to
respond to true rms or rectified mean current.
AV AVERAGE POWER FACTOR.
PF
This displays the average power factor during the integration interval.
CORR
VAr CORRECTION VArs.
This displays the value of the VArs required to correct the average
power factor to a value preset by the user.
FUND FUNDAMENTAL.
By using this button, the integrator will display the fundamental
component of each of the above functions. This is useful for determining
values that would be recorded on electromechanical instruments
responding to fundamental components only.
