DISP DISPLAY
- LAY
This menu sets up the display format of the PM3000A.
CLOCK
SET The PM3000 can display, for the selected channel, three simultaneous
AUTO measurements as programmed by the user:- (eg. VA VAr W).
Four measurements can be displayed for most parameter selections.
On multiphase systems, the PM3000A can display the measurement
value for each phase, plus the total:- (eg CH1W, CH2W, CH3W, Σ W).
CLOCK SET
This function sets the clock to local time and date. The clock is
powered by a lithium cell which should not require replacing for at least
5 years.
AUTO
This provides selection between auto and manual ranging. The
PM3000A is fully autoranging for both voltage and current over the
whole input range. Independent channel ranging is selectable.
Manual ranging can be selected for recording transient events such as
motor start-up currents, or for use with data-log.
In each case the selected range is indicated on the 12 element
bargraph display. An overload on any range will be indicated by the
PM3000A display.
START START/RESET STOP
RESET
These keys are used to start and stop the integrator, or trigger data
STOP logging, when in manual control.
DUMP DUMP
When a printer is connected to the PM3000A, the user can output
results to the printer at any time by pressing this key. The values on
the display will be printed, or else a selection of other measurements
as previously set on the interface menu.
LOCAL LOCAL
This allows the user to switch from remote (IEEE) control of the
instrument to control from the front panel.
SELECT (CLEAR)
SELECT This key is used to select the displayed menu options. For example:
PRESS
SELECT
ENTER It also acts as a CLEAR key to cancel incorrectly entered numeric data.
ENTER (HOLD AND DISPLAY)
This key will load the PM3000A with numeric or other data input to the
keyboard. When not entering data this key will act as a HOLD key to
‘freeze’ the display. Selecting any measurement function for any
channel will display the relevant 'frozen' measurement value until the
ENTER key is re-pressed to exit the HOLD function.
PROGRAM KEY
P This is used to store front panel settings, including scaling factors and
other menu set ups. Up to 5 settings may be stored and recalled using
this key, including the power-up setting.
SPECIAL FUNCTION KEY
F This key provides access to additional special measurement modes
and functions. Specific modes for IEC555, PWM and ballast testing
are available together with a host of functions to allow the user to
configure the PM3000A to their requirements. This key also allows
access, using a special code, to the calibration routines of the
PM3000A. The instrument can be calibrated manually or by the
interface bus.
