The Bus Chassis

The heart of all Irisbus vehicles is the chassis, the foundation from which all inspiration grows.
Having a safe, strong, reliable base to build on is as important as the finished vehicle, and
although mostly unseen obviously the chassis is the key to the success of any vehicle.

Reliability, Economy, Strength and Safety are common bywords associated with Irisbus vehicle
chassis that are known throughout the world. With unceasing work carried out by the Research
& Development departments throughout Europe it is little wonder that Irisbus are now the
second largest supplier of Coaches and Buses in Europe.

With a history going back nearly one hundred years, Irisbus as it is today, has evolved from a
host of different associations and mergers. With the skills of Fiat and Iveco coupled with an
alliance with Renault V.I., the purchase of the Hungarian Ikarusbus and the Karosa Coach and
Bus division, Irisbus provides products of the future founded on experience and expertise from
the past.

Boasting some 7800 employees who include nearly 700 researchers, engineers and technicians,
Irisbus has plants in France, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary. They all specialise in
the manufacture of buses or coaches, either complete vehicles or chassis.
