The Foundation of Inspiration

The driving force behind these two products is the turbo
intercooled, 4-valves per cylinder, 5.9 litre “tector” engine.

This unit is the outcome of years of research and
development by the European Engine Alliance, in which
Iveco has been the driving force. In the 100E it develops
210 horsepower at 2700 rpm and 680 Newton metres at
1200 rpm, and provides the ideal power unit for passenger
vehicles in this sector. In its 150E role, the engine is rated
at 240 horsepower at 2700 rpm and 810 Newton metres at
1250 rpm providing these vehicles with more than
adequate power for economical, reliable operation.

Both versions feature an electronically controlled common
rail fuel injection system so necessary to meet the latest
European emission legislation whilst providing maximum
fuel economy.

The timing gear is rear mounted to ensure rotational timing
accuracy and quietness of operation.

Underneath these technological advances lies a traditional
long stroke engine ideal for providing excellent flexibility
leading to good drivability under all operating conditions.

The electronic engine management system connects
directly into the Iveco “MODUS” diagnostic programme to
provide rapid assistance and maintenance solutions.
