Engine

        Transmission

Drive from the 100E power unit is delivered
through a reliable ZF 6-speed synchromesh
transmission. This allows the driver to benefit
from a light, positive, conventional “H” pattern
gear change creating a relaxed driving
environment. On the 150E, the transmission is
an Alison MD3060PR fully automatic 5-speed
unit. This features torque converter drive and
an integral retarder for added braking security.
Allowing the transmission to manage gear
selection permits the driver to give his full
        attention to the road ahead.

Suspension

The ultimate in ride comfort is provided on both vehicles by a sophisticated full air
suspension system on both axles.

The front axle on both variants is located by a parabolic spring and suspension via two air
bags. The rear axle location on the 100E is a trailing arm with the suspension also
provided by a two air bag arrangement. Due to the higher operating weight of the 150E,
the rear axle suspension is provided by the heavier duty four bag system. Three levelling
valves and shock absorbers plus anti-roll bars front and rear ensure ride stability on both
models under all conditions.

Braking

The 100E features two independent air hydraulic braking circuits with 322 mm diameter
disc brakes front and rear. The 150E24 also has two independent circuits but, to cater for
the heavier weights involved, these are full air. In this configuration, 377 mm front discs
are coupled to 360 mm rear drums to provide sure footed stopping power under all
conditions. ABS control is standard as is an exhaust brake operated by a three mode
selector.
