importance warrants; there is something engaging, too, about these glimpses of
our grandfathers and their ladies in their lighter moments.
Regular annual evening events were eventually established after 1950 with
the RAC Club at Epsom being favoured. These were not ‘Ladies Nights’ as held
by most other Lodges but private parties limited to members and their partners
together with close relatives and prospective candidates.
In due course this event transformed into Luncheon, with the venue being
selected by the WM. This gathering has introduced the members to many and
varied interesting venues, too numerous to mention individually. Thus the happy
tradition of the Lodge continues into the 21st Century.
