CHURCH MATTERS
The end of July and the beginning
of August were a busy time at St
Nicholas. The Fragile Earth Exhibition
was set up in the church and we
hosted a traditional Afternoon Tea
which was enjoyed by many people
and which was a huge success.

On 3 September Paula Tait,
singer and musician, returned to St
Nicholas and gave a concert. This
complimented the Fragile Earth project
and our Harvest Festival Service the
following day, and where our puppets
made a guest appearance.
The annual Garden Fete was
postponed following the sad death of
Her Majesty.

Remembrance Sunday Service is on

Sunday 13 November at 10:00 am
and is always a moving service led by
Gareth Munson.
The Candle Lit Supper is planned for
Friday 25 November. This is always

a popular occasion, so watch for the
release of tickets to be certain of yours!
The Patronal Festival (St Nicholas
Service) takes place on Sunday
4 December. It celebrates our patron

saint and is very popular with the children
from the school who traditionally act out
the story of the original Santa Claus.
The Carol Service will be held on
Sunday 18 December at 3:00 pm.

The Crib Service takes place on
Saturday 24 December. It is an

atmospheric, family service and
especially loved by the children.
25 December, Christmas Day Holy

Communion will be at 9:00 am.
