UShe was called the Muse of astronomy. She was represented with a
celestial globe to which she pointed with a staff. She was said to have been
the mother by Apollo of Hymen, and by Apollo or Amphimarus of Linus. The
mothers of Hymen and Linus were usually considered to be one or another of
the Muses, but opinions varied widely as to which.
