CShe was the Muse of history and is usually shown sitting with a scroll of
paper or an open chest of books.

As with certain of the other Muses,
there were efforts on the part of
writers to link her with poets and
musicians. She has been called
the mother of Hyacinthus by
Pierus, and of Linus, Ialemus, and
Hymenaeus by Magnes.
