Looking
after you...
This area of the website details the various legislative
and regulatory compliance issues we must adhere to when trading via this
website. A review of this policy has been carried out to ensure continued compliance with the UK Data Protection Regulations now we are no longer part of the EU. Fortunately, the UK has adopted the EU Data Protection Regulations so there are minimal changes.
Our aim is to treat our website visitors and all our
customers as we expect to be treated ourselves. We have added this element
of the website to reassure visitors and customers that we understand the
application of the Data Protection Act, associated laws and self-regulatory
schemes that are designed to protect the consumer.
In order to demonstrate that our privacy policy accords with the above
privacy instrument, we are voluntarily committed to a Self Assessment
procedure. In addition to this, we welcome any
suggestions you may have that would help us improve our service to
you.
Legislative and regulatory

therefore we seek to comply with legislation designed to protect the
rights of the consumer and we have no wish to compromise those rights
in any way.

to UK laws governing business operations.

- Data
Collection and Purpose Specification: lawful basis for processing:
All our data processing falls into the category of consent:
Mail order
If a customer cannot purchase our plants in person, they can elect to mail order. At this point the customer consents to provide us with a name, address, delivery details and contact telephone number, when they place an order with us. We then get in touch when we are about to dispatch their consigment, request and process their payment details.
Beyond names, addresses and telephone numbers we do not collect any personal data from
our visitors when they use our services. We do not collect information
about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or
bodies, or private organisations. We do not collect or use personal
data for any purpose other than to mail orders placed. We operate a paper wish list where customers have specifically asked to be informed if a specific plant becomes available to buy.
Monthly newsletters
Our monthly newsletter has to be subscribed to by a recipient, and that service is managed through Mail Chimp. Existing subscribers can opt to discontinue their subscription
at any point by selecting the option at the foot of each newsletter, or the email, which delivered the newsletter. They will be removed from the address list automatically.

adults. However, we are aware that children may browse the website.
All visitors to our website are treated in the same way and we do
not knowingly collect personal data from children, or any other
visitor. We do not collect data relating to the age of our visitors,
therefore, we cannot say that we are taking specific steps to protect
the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us.
We apply the same level of personal data protection to all our customers
and, as personal data is not collected via the website but via email,
post or telephone, we are happy that we are doing all we can to
protect the privacy of children.

organisations.
